Education Advocacy

“Different, Not Less”

My neuro affirming approach to advocacy involves creating a framework that is strategic, collaborative, and inclusive as we campaign for your child’s options and rights. This planning helps minimize barriers to calibrating support, and it sets your child on a path to long-term independence, success, and well-being in and out of the classroom.

Let’s Make a Plan!

Parent Support and Collaboration

Need help making a schedule for school breaks or just want to create a “getting to know my child” worksheet for their teachers? I offer a general consulting option that is a great fit for short term goals like standalone document builds, data organization, or executive functioning planning and supports tailored to your child.

Strategy and Planning

One of the challenges of navigating exceptional education for children in independent school settings is that there is not necessarily a standardized process for ensuring they have the right learning supports. Also- there are a lot of data sources to manage! I offer services designed for children in early childhood and/or independent school settings. We’ll create a document toolkit just for your child, collating information and priorities from all relevant sources (education testing, support providers, school reports). At the end, you’ll come away with a personalized report that can be shared across environments, providers, etc. This highlights the “critical facts” about your child’s case and minimizes intake work for you.

Advocacy

Your child has the right to a free and appropriate public education! I also support families navigating traditional special education (504s and IEPs) in a public school setting. This work includes things like school record review, meeting prep sessions, direct advocacy in school meetings, and planning for next steps. I understand how emotionally overwhelming talking about your child’s challenges in a formal setting can feel, and I take special care to ensure we are prepared to communicate effectively and understand the full range of options.
